Salt & Light

Prayer Partners

As Sue and I are now in Casper we are very much aware of our dependence upon God to establish Salt & Light. Now that we have been here a few months we are even more confident of the need for a reformed church that is passionate about Jesus, Biblically faithful, lives all of life for the glory of God, and believes lost people matter to God.  For those of you who have been praying, we cannot fully express how much we appreciate your prayers.  We thank God for each of you and for your prayers.

What God has been doing so far:

¨ Provided a place for Charlie and Sue to live

While this may seem like a routine matter — the hand of God was clearly evident.  An apartment on the mountain was offered to us before we came, but we turned the offer down.  Just prior to our final move we came to find a place to live.  We soon discovered that not only were there no apartments available, there was a waiting list for apartments, and the houses that were available were more than we could afford. We were told about people living in a motel room for months waiting for a place to open up.  We called the owner of the apartment on the mountain and miraculously, it was still available.

¨ Provided Sue with employment

This was a crucial component for our ability to even live here.

¨ Provided Charlie with encouraging and prayerful pastor friends in the community Charlie is meeting weekly with a group of pastors who are enthusiastic about Salt & Light and are praying for it to be established.  One of the pastors has even offered the use of his church’s facilities for Salt & Light.

¨ Provided media coverage -- One of the local TV stations did a special news segment on Charlie and Salt & Light that was very positive.  A newspaper just publicized our Bible study in a prominent format at no charge

¨ Created interest and provided a home for a Thursday evening Bible study

¨ Charlie had the joy and privilege of joining his sister and her boyfriend in marriage

¨ A Thursday evening bible study has been started

¨ Thank you for your prayers for Malcolm and Eileen.  Malcolm has arrived in Casper, Eileen has a job and is now a part of our community

¨ Charlie is working at Sears selling appliances. The job not only provides income but numerous opportunities to meet people.  Continue to pray for the ongoing opportunities to share the gospel there.

¨ We are now gathering regularly on Sunday mornings to worship Jesus, gather around His Word and encourage one another.

What we are asking God to do:

¨ God knows the people He wants to bring together as the nucleus of Salt & Light. We are praying that He would connect us with those people.

¨ We are asking God to guide us to His choice for a site other than our home to meet for worship on Sundays.

Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. (Psalm 127:1)

Sue and I are praying to establish an army of those who will persistently pray for Salt & Light.  If you would like to be one of those people please click here.
